Final Outcome Two

I printed out my cards to see how they look and I believe it came out really well, looks like it was made for young children which I am pleased about. I like that the colours are really bold and easy to look at and read. I put the questions in the order and the answers in the right place to show what it will look like.

I am pleased with the results of the design and also pleased with the brain puzzle, I couldn't pick just one final piece because believe both methods are really good ideas for young children, I really want them to understand this problem because I have experience and to this day, it still bothers me, so I want children to get help early so they don't have to live with it. The outcome was very successful and will be good for children to get through this issue without any compilations.

Designing my cards for the Final outcome two

Designing my cards, I wanted to continue with this because I believe this will also help children to communicate with anyone for example, a social worker, the social worker will use the cards to help find out what is wrong with the child, to make the child feel less scared because it's always frightening talking to a random adult.

I wanted the question cards to be simple and to have really big bold text to show the children. I didn't want the cards to look too complicated as my aim is towards young children.

I have different coloured backgrounds for the answer cards because I wanted each card to look different, Designing the icons, again wanted to keep it simple so that the child understands the questions and answers.

I really liked how the cards came out because I feel like this will really help to get young children to communicate because it will look like a game to them.

Final outcome Brain Puzzle

Here is my Final piece, My brain puzzle, showing the front, side and back view. I really like how my puzzle came out because I wanted it to be simple and bold because my aim is towards young children from the age of seven to ten, I believe the age group I'm hitting for is good because this issue starts from a very young age. I want young children to understand these words that I picked to use to create this puzzle, I believe the words I picked were reasonable, by going through my research, a lot of these words came up on leaflets, stories etc.

Designing the shape of the brain wasn't too bad as I search many images of the brain to get the shape right. I didn't want it to look too realistic as I wanted to be an experience of learning for young children, didn't want it come across frightening.

I used a bold colour of pink for the puzzle, again I didn't want to go to detailed with the use of colours as I wanted to look like a brain and using one colour will really make it come across clean and bold. I want it to be easy to work with and not be distracted by different colours.

I believe this will help young children because when they learn to understand these words and what they mean, they shouldn't be afraid to express what there feeling inside and should feel ok to get help and speak to someone, whether it's a parent, friend, teacher etc.

Brain Puzzle Wireframe

Here is another idea of a plan I'm thinking off, its a brain puzzle, the reason why its a brain is because emotional and mental abuse is all to do with the mind. I like the idea of having words on the puzzles and when the children pick up a piece it will explain what that word means behind that puzzle piece. The words I'll use will be to do with emotional abuse, for example emotion, trauma, violence etc to get children to understand what these words mean and to not be afraid to speak out if they feel like they have been through something that is wrong.

Image of Abuse

I really like this image because it shows so much emotion, the shadow of a parent or relative bullying the young child by shouting at her, probably treating her like she's nothing to him. The image is really eye catching and should show people that this is wrong, clearly the child is going to suffer from fear and anxiety. This child looks really young and is probably to scared to tell any one about this issue, this is what I want to fix, to find a solution to stop this happening to young children.

Leaflets and Posters of Emotional Abuse

Researching some images of leaflets and posters to see what information they display and what images they use to try and convey a message to help people with this problem.

Looking at this link, helps me as I was reading a lot of information, this is launched by NSPCC. Its really good seeing what there doing to try and fix this problem. They won't stop until this issue is fixed and dealt with right.

Paper prototype of my design of cards

This is a paper prototype of my cards, I am creating five questions.

First Question:What emotion do you feel?
Second Question: Where do you feel this emotion most?
Third Question: Who makes you feel this emotion?
Fourth Question: How often do they make you feel this emotion?
Fifth Question: Do they make you feel this emotion when your on your own or in front of others?

Answers:
One: Happy, Sad, Worried, Angry and Scared
Two: School, Home and Playground
Three: Parents, Relatives and Friends
Four: Every day, Few days and Once a week
Five: Own or Others

Five questions and multiple answers for each question. A child talking to a social worker, the social worker should start of with these questions and let the child pick the answer to the question, gets them to interact with the social worker and make them feel more comfortable and less scared. This is to help the social worker to see what the problem is and what there working with.
